What to expect during your visit

  • Arrival: your nurse introduces themselves and sets up in your room, villa or on deck.
  • Health check: blood pressure, pulse and a few questions about your symptoms, allergies and medication.
  • Your drip: a small, sterile cannula goes into your arm and the drip runs for 30–60 minutes.
  • Throughout: your nurse stays with you and monitors how you feel.
  • Afterwards: the cannula is removed, all waste is taken away and you get simple aftercare advice.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about any medical conditions, allergies or regular medication.
  • Sip some water and eat a light snack if you can manage it.
  • Find a comfortable spot where you can sit back or lie down for up to an hour.

Questions about the visit

How long does an IV drip take?

Most drips run for 30–60 minutes. Add about 10 minutes for the health check and setup, so plan for roughly an hour from the moment your nurse arrives.

Does an IV drip hurt?

You will feel a quick sharp scratch as the cannula goes in, similar to a blood test. After that most people feel nothing, apart from a cool sensation in the arm as the fluid runs. A small bruise afterwards is common and harmless.

Can you come to my hotel room?

Yes. Most visits happen in a hotel room, bungalow or villa, and we also come to boats anchored in the bay. You just need somewhere comfortable to sit back or lie down for up to an hour.

Can I sleep during the drip?

Yes. Many guests rest or doze. Your nurse stays with you the whole time and keeps an eye on the drip and how you feel.
