Running on empty after a few days on the water?
Phi Phi is one of Thailand’s busiest dive areas, and a dive holiday is harder on your body than it looks. You breathe dry air from the tank, sweat on the boat between dives, spend hours in the sun and often sleep less than usual. Many guests also arrive after a long-haul flight and a ferry, already tired and behind on fluids.
Our Dive & Energy Recovery drip is for guests on Koh Phi Phi who:
- Feel drained, headachy or crampy after several dive or snorkel days
- Have a rest day between dive trips and want to recharge
- Feel washed out after a long flight, ferry or boat trip
- Struggle to drink enough on the boat and feel dehydrated
Dive & energy IV ingredients
What’s in our dive & energy drip?
Your nurse prepares the drip after a health check and adjusts it to you.
| Ingredient | Why it’s in the drip |
|---|---|
| Electrolyte fluids | Rehydrates you directly, replacing the water and salts lost through sweat and breathing dry tank air. |
| Vitamin B12 & B-complex | B vitamins play a role in normal energy metabolism and help reduce tiredness when you are low on them. |
| Magnesium & calcium | Minerals involved in normal muscle function, lost in sweat in the tropical heat. |
| Vitamin C | An antioxidant vitamin that supports normal immune function. |
The drip contains: Vitamin B12 · B-complex · Magnesium · Calcium · Vitamin C. Exact contents are confirmed by your nurse at the health check.
Is an IV drip after diving a good idea?
For most divers, good hydration comes from drinking: water and rehydration drinks before and between dives, and less alcohol the night before. An IV drip after diving is a quick way to catch up when you have fallen behind, feel drained after a few days of diving or simply want to recover faster on a rest day. It is a recovery treatment for tiredness and dehydration, nothing more.
An IV drip does not prevent or treat decompression sickness, and it is not a reason to dive more or deeper. If you are planning to dive soon after a drip, or have any doubt about timing, ask your dive centre or instructor first. Our guide to diving and dehydration on Phi Phi explains how to stay hydrated between dives.
Can it help with jet lag?
It can help with the dehydration and tiredness that come with a long journey, which is a big part of why the first day feels so rough. It won’t reset your body clock, though: daylight, sleep and mealtimes do that. Our jet lag recovery plan for Phi Phi covers the rest.
How much does it cost on Koh Phi Phi?
Our Dive & Energy Recovery drip costs from ฿4,200 and takes about 45–60 min, including the visit to your hotel, bungalow, villa or boat on Phi Phi Don, the health check and a licensed nurse throughout. Whole dive group feeling it? Ask for our group rate.
When you need a doctor, not a drip
Suspected decompression sickness is an emergency. After a dive, watch for joint or limb pain, numbness or tingling, unusual tiredness or weakness, a skin rash or itching, dizziness, confusion, difficulty breathing or chest pain. Breathe 100% oxygen from the dive centre’s emergency kit straight away, tell your dive centre, contact DAN (Divers Alert Network) and call 1669 (Thailand emergency medical services). Divers may need recompression treatment in a hyperbaric chamber on the mainland. Do not wait to see if a drip helps.

Dive & energy IV FAQ
Questions about dive recovery drips
When is the best time to have a drip on a dive holiday?
Most divers book one in the evening after diving or on a rest day. If you want one before diving, ask your dive centre or instructor first, and tell your nurse your dive plans at the health check.
Does an IV drip prevent decompression sickness?
No. Staying hydrated is part of diving safely, but no drip prevents or treats decompression sickness. Follow your dive plan and computer, and treat any symptoms after a dive as an emergency.
Can you come to our dive boat?
We can treat guests on boats anchored in Tonsai or Loh Dalum bay. Send us a map pin and the boat’s name. We don’t treat guests on a moving boat or during a dive trip.
Will I feel more energetic straight away?
Many guests feel less tired and headachy by the end of the drip, mostly because they are rehydrated. A good night’s sleep is still the best recovery after a dive day.
