Antioxidant drip
What is glutathione?
Glutathione is an antioxidant that your body makes itself, mainly in the liver, from three amino acids. It helps protect cells from everyday wear and tear. Our Glow Antioxidant drip combines glutathione with vitamin C and hydration fluids, and guests usually book it as a recovery treat after a few days of sun, salt water and late nights.
We want to be straightforward about it, because glutathione is one of the most over-marketed drips in Asia:
- We don’t offer it for skin lightening or whitening. There is no good evidence that a glutathione drip lightens skin, and regulators have warned against injecting it for that purpose.
- It is not a cleanse. Your liver and kidneys already clear waste from your body, and a drip doesn’t speed that up.
- The evidence for IV glutathione’s benefits is limited. Most of what you feel afterwards comes from the fluids and rest.
Glutathione drip ingredients
What’s in our glutathione drip?
Pharmaceutical-grade ingredients from licensed Thai suppliers, prepared fresh by your nurse after a health check.
| Ingredient | Why it’s in the drip |
|---|---|
| Glutathione | An antioxidant the body makes naturally. Given here as an antioxidant top-up, not for skin lightening. |
| Vitamin C | An antioxidant vitamin that supports normal immune function and normal collagen formation. |
| Hydration fluids | Rehydrate you after sun, heat and travel, which is often what makes you feel brighter afterwards. |
We only use pharmaceutical-grade products intended for injection. In 2019 the US FDA reported patients who reacted to glutathione that was not made for injection, which is why the source of what goes into your vein matters.
Does a glutathione drip work?
Honestly, the research is thin. A 2025 review of glutathione for skin lightening found that the evidence for the intravenous form is limited to a single, poorly designed study, and that IV glutathione has been linked to serious side effects such as allergic reactions and liver problems. Oral and topical forms have slightly better evidence. For general “glow” and recovery, there are no good trials at all.
So why offer it? Some guests ask for it as part of a relaxing recovery drip, and if you want one we would rather it is given safely, by a nurse, with honest information. If you mainly feel dehydrated or tired, our hydration IV drip is simpler and cheaper.
Who should not have a glutathione drip?
- Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, as there is not enough safety information
- Anyone with an allergy to glutathione or any ingredient, or a past reaction to an infusion
- People with asthma, liver or kidney disease, or who take regular medication, unless a doctor has agreed. Tell your nurse at the health check
- Anyone under 18
How much does a glutathione drip cost on Koh Phi Phi?
Our Glow Antioxidant drip costs from ฿4,500 and takes about 45 min, including the visit to your hotel, bungalow, villa or boat on Phi Phi Don, the health check and a licensed nurse throughout. You can also compare all our IV drips and prices.
When you need a doctor, not a drip
Tell your nurse immediately if you feel itchy, flushed, wheezy, dizzy, sick or short of breath during or after any drip; they will stop it straight away. Swelling of the face, lips or throat, difficulty breathing or collapse is an emergency: call 1669 (Thailand emergency medical services). A new rash with blisters or peeling skin in the days after any treatment also needs a doctor urgently.

Glutathione drip FAQ
Questions about glutathione drips
Will a glutathione drip lighten my skin?
We don’t offer or recommend it for skin lightening. There is no good evidence that intravenous glutathione lightens skin, and health regulators have warned against using it that way.
Is a glutathione drip safe?
Like any infusion it carries a small risk of a reaction. We use pharmaceutical-grade products, screen you first and your nurse stays with you throughout. Read our safety standards.
Can I combine it with another drip?
Ask us when you book. Often the simplest option is the drip that matches how you feel, such as hydration or hangover recovery.
How often can I have one?
We don’t recommend repeated glutathione drips on holiday. Once is plenty if you want one; there is no evidence that more is better.
